One of our personal knit fabric favorites, the Fabric Merchants has a wide selection of high quality knit fabrics available. They’re not only amazing quality, but pretty affordable as well. Their knits are made of 95% cotton and 5% Lycra Spandex so they have a bit of stretch to them, while still being breathable.
Some fabrics do have to be hung dried, but all can be washed in the washing machine. There are mixed reviews about the accuracy of the color arriving a little different than as advertised in the photos, but no complaints on the overall quality of the fabric.
If you’re looking for something a little bit more unique, the David Angie company has a variety of knit fabrics in a range of different colors and prints. They are all easy to care for with being machine washable safe and tumbled dry as well. They are great for making handbags and clothing, and with the different prints, festive holiday attire as well.
They’re lightweight, made of polyester and Lycra Spandex and very durable.
Another unique fabric company, Amersonne has a range of different printed knit fabrics available which are great for creating fun and colorful clothing and accessories. Amersonne has over 44 different patterns to choose from and come in 2-yard increments. They are machine washable, but only on delicate, cold cycles. They’re extremely lightweight and soft, yet very durable.
Field’s Fabric is another top-rated colorful and fun knit fabric company conveniently available on Amazon. Although their patterns aren’t as bright and colorful, they’re still great quality knit fabric perfect for sewing T-Shirts or bed linens.
We personally love this Bears Pine Tree fabric as it’s jersey knit and incredibly soft. It’s 100% cotton and sold by the yard. It’s machine washable on warm and would be perfect for making bed sheets with.
